The Institute after studying the Advanced Certificate and Post-Graduate

the luxury brand Swarovski, the global manufacturers and retailers
of cut crystal. "I decided I wanted to meet more marketers,"
explains Ade, "my sales consultant role was not meeting my

Anna
Tobieson
Anna joined the Chartered Institute of Marketing
in January 2008 and has been an active member ever since. A native
of Sweden, she came to London without many contacts and was looking
for a platform to help her build a new professional network. “I
needed to share thoughts and ideas, so joining the Chartered Institute
of Marketing seemed like the best plan. Since then, I’ve
had the opportunity to meet people in my field and attend some
great events,” says Anna. She joined the Central London
Team of the GLR 6 months later and organised her first event last
year. The topic, Digital Marketing, got such brilliant feedback
that’s she’s already planned another event on the
same theme. During the day, Anna works as a Marketing Exective
at Allianz. In her free time, she’s studying for the Professional
Diploma in Marketing.

Michelle
Tierney, DipM
Michelle Tierney believes in setting goals.
And she’s confident that the Chartered Institute of Marketing
can help her achieve them. A member since she began studying for
her diploma, she’s now a Senior Marketing Manager at the
Royal Bank of Scotland. Her focus is on sponsorship and internal
communications. Michelle says, “I’m passionate about
reaching my potential and helping others do the same. I enjoy
learning, and developing my marketing skills. One of the major
advantages of membership is the opportunity to share experiences
and new ideas with other marketers. ”Michelle’s attitude
and hard work have already paid off. Through the Chartered Institute
of Marketing, she heard about The Marketing High Flier of the
Year Awards, sponsored by the Marketing Forum. She entered with
a strategic marketing plan written for her qualification and won.
“It just shows that The Institute can help your career in
different ways,” says Michelle. The prize was a three-day
networking event that included seminars with senior figures in
the industry. In the future, she wants to help her colleagues
on the Central London Team plan innovative and educational events.
